Public Affairs Officer Terry White addresses Nepal Library Day gathering (State Dept.)

To celebrate the third annual National Library Day of Nepal, Public Affairs Kathmandu’s American Library partnered with Nepal Library Association and other library organizations in hosting the Nepal Library Day celebration program at the office of the Right Honorable Vice-President of Nepal Parmanand Jha’s office in Kathmandu.

Students, library professionals, senior GON officials and dignitaries from various walks of life assembled at the gathering, chaired by the Vice-President, who welcomed all the guests. Counselor for Public affairs Terry White spoke about the history of the American Library, established in Nepal in 1952, observing that it and the five American Corners are an integral part of Nepali library society and play an important role in support of the country's democracy, peace and prosperity.
