At the release ceremony attended by more than 100 artists, writers, journalists and other dignitaries, Charge d'Affaires Randy Berry formally released the landmark play “A Raisin in the Sun” into the hands of the Nepali people. The Nepal Academy, the preeminent cultural academic institution in Nepal, published the Nepali translation entitled “Kismisko Biskun.” In March of 2007, some 5000 people watched this play when it was staged in the Nepali language for five days in Kathmandu. This also marked the first ever foreign play that the Nepal Academy had performed in the Nepali language.
