CIWEC Travel Medicine Clinic

Located in Lazimpat, near the British and Indian Embassies.  With Expatriate and Nepali physicians, it opens seven days a week with 24 hours doctor on-site.  American hygienist and Nepali dentist available five days a week.  Laboratory facilities, ambulance service, vaccinations, medications, x-ray, and ultrasound available on site.  Accepts Visa and MasterCard.

Grande International Hospital

Located in Dhapasi and is under the management of the Samitivej Hospital, Bangkok, Thailand. The hospital started operations in early 2013 with basic services, but is expected to expand variety of services soon.

Himalayan Rescue Association (HRA)

Founded in 1973 to reduce deaths among trekkers.  Head office is located in Lazimpat, near the Palace Museum north gate.  HRA gives free advices to trekkers on altitude sickness, equipment, and conditions of trekking routes.  It has aid posts in Pheriche and Manang staffed by expatriate physicians during peak seasons (March-May and October-November).

Nepal International Clinic (NIC)

Located within the walking distance from Thamel, it opens 9:00am to 5:00pm, Sunday through Friday by appointments. Facilities include 24-hour telephone answering service for emergency physician contact, medical care in a Western setting, Laboratory facilities, vaccinations, x-ray, and medications available on site.  Accepts cash, checks, Visa, Master Card, and American Express.

Norvic Hospital and Outpatient Clinic

Located in Thapathali. Outpatient diagnostic services 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., Sunday through Friday.   Specializes in cardiac care as well as handles general medical cases.  24-hour emergency and ambulatory services available.  Hospital has CCU, ICU, NICU and medical ICU.

Associated with Patan Hospital, it is located in Lagankhel. Specialties include OB/GYN, surgery, pediatrics, dermatology, internal medicine, and orthopedics.  They have few expatriate medical personnel among local resident doctors.

Located in Heritage Plaza II, Kamaladi (down the first right turn on the way to Kamaladi from King Mahendra's statue at King's Way).  Opens Sunday to Friday, 10:00 am to 7:00 pm excluding lunch time from 1:30pm to 2:30pm.  Visits by appointments only.  Accepts Visa, MasterCard, and local debit cards.

HDCS Team Hospital

Located in Dandeldhura, Far Western Nepal and is supported by a missionary group.  Doctors includes expatriate medical personnel, they have full dental and lab facility, conduct major surgeries and operate leprosy program.

Kunde Hospital

Located in Khumbu Area and supported by The Sir Edmund Hillary Foundation.  The hospital is equipped to handle basic medical care including some minor operations such as caesarian section or appendicitis.  All complicated cases are sent to Kathmandu.

Manipal Teaching Hospital

Private hospital located in Phulbari, Pokhara with medical and comprehensive radiology services and 24-hour emergency room.  Provides medical services to travelers in Pokhara and Annapurna area.  The hospital is associated with Manipal Universal Learning in India.  No interventional cardiology available at this location.  Laboratory and investigation like MRI, CT-Scan, and Mammography available.  They have well equipped cancer center.
