Deputy Assistant Secretary Alyssa Ayres Arrives in Nepal

Dr. Alyssa Ayres, the Deputy Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asia, arrived in Nepal today for a five-day visit. In Kathmandu, Dr. Ayres will meet with senior government officials and civic activists. She will then travel to Pokhara to visit various business and civil society leaders, followed by a discussion on youth issues with students at the American Corner in Pokhara.
Dr. Ayres assumed her duties as Deputy Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asia in August 2010. She has extensive experience working on south and central Asian issues in both government and private sector careers.
