U.S. Assistant Secretary Blake in Nepal

U.S. Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asian Affairs Robert O. Blake visited Kathmandu, Nepal September 10-11. 

During his time in Nepal, Assistant Secretary Blake met with Prime Minister Bhattarai, Maoist Chairman Prachanda, Nepal Army Chief Guarav Rana and other Nepali government officials to discuss a range of bilateral and regional issues, including the recent delisting of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT) under Executive Order (E.O.) 13224 and as a terrorist organization on the Terrorist Exclusion List (TEL). He also met with business leaders, Tibetan community representatives, civil society leaders and human rights activists.
