U.S. MISSION RELOCATES TO NEW EMBASSY COMPOUND

The U.S. Mission to Nepal, including all Embassy offices and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), will be closed Thursday-Friday, August 16 – 17, for its move to the new U.S. Embassy compound in Maharajgunj.
Regular operations for most of the Embassy will recommence on Monday, August 20. Business hours for the new embassy are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Consular Section and the American Library will resume services to the public on August 21 and August 23, respectively. Visa interviews conducted by the Consular Section will begin on Tuesday, August 21. Visa applicants scheduled for interviews then will need to report to the new embassy compound at Maharajgunj for their appointments.
The American Library, relocated to the new embassy, will open on Thursday, August 23. Library hours will be from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
In the event of an emergency during the Consular Section’s temporary closure, American citizens should call 400-7200.
