“No Objection” Letters

American citizens sometimes request a letter of “Introduction” or “No Objection” from the Embassy to apply for a visa to third countries or for other purposes.  However, the Embassy does not issue individual letters for American citizens for any reason.

American citizens who have been asked to obtain such a letter may wish to print a copy of this page from the Embassy website and present it to the authorities requesting the letter.  This information may help the authorities to understand the U.S. Embassy’s policy about the issuance of “Introduction” or “No Objection” letters.

Please email us at consktm@state.gov if you have any questions or concerns about “No Objection” letters.
